Our History
BHRAGS Home Care, Corp. has a longstanding history of service, rooted in a commitment to addressing social and economic issues in New York communities. From its inception (1969), BHRAGS has been dedicated to empowering marginalized individuals by providing compassionate support, resources, and advocacy. For over 50 years, BHRAGS has evolved to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves, operating multiple specialized entities under its umbrella.
1969
Incorporated as The Ralph Community Center, Inc. with a focus on community-based services to support families and individuals through education, outreach, and social service programs.
1981
Launched BHRAGS Home Care, Corp. to provide essential direct care services for elderly individuals, people with developmental disabilities, and those with chronic medical conditions.
With a focus on enhancing quality of life, BHRAGS Home Care quickly became known for its personalized approach, operating with a motto of “A hand that touches with tenderness, an ear that listens with compassion, and a heart that embraces with generosity and empathy.”
2022
Responding to New York City’s growing need to support unhoused individuals and families, BHRAGS expanded its mission to include emergency shelter services.
Through this initiative, BHRAGS has been instrumental in providing safe housing, case management, and supportive programs to help families and individuals regain stability and achieve self-sufficiency.

Today, BHRAGS continues to operate as a multifaceted organization, integrating a holistic approach to service delivery that spans health care, housing, and human services.
