BHRAGS Home Care, Corp. Names Frances Pierre as Chief Executive Officer
09/21/26 - Brooklyn, NY: BHRAGS Home Care, Corp. (“BHRAGS”) is proud to announce the
formal selection of Frances Pierre as Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Pierre had been serving as
interim Executive Director and was approved by the Board of Directors for a full-time leadership position on September 17, 2026.
Ms. Pierre brings more than thirty years of experience working in New York City and
Suffolk County shelter systems to the role. She has held positions with non-profit organizations including Federation of Organizations and Help USA, as well as government roles with the New York City Department of Homeless Services and the Suffolk County Social Services District. Ms. Pierre has worked at every level of the shelter system—from one-on-one case management, to oversight of more than 70 shelters and 9,000 beds—and has dedicated her life to understanding people who need housing and the many challenges they face to secure a safe, stable place to stay.
Under Ms. Pierre's leadership, the organization is refocusing on its mission of enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families through home care, community outreach, and support programs. BHRAGS is excited to embark on this new chapter and reaffirm its role as an essential care provider to vulnerable New Yorkers.
Since its inception in 1981, BHRAGS has cared for over 50,000 patients, providing much
needed health care services, companionship and assistance with Activities of Daily Living;
connection to community services, and skilled nursing for individuals during times of great need. Since 2022, BHRAGS has operated homeless shelters in accordance with the City’s right to shelter laws. BHRAGS has helped more than 350 families find permanent housing, and has placed 8,400 individuals and families in safe, secure emergency shelters with wraparound services to facilitate their transition to permanent housing as quickly as possible.
The organization remains fundamentally committed to supporting New Yorkers in need.
